The RI Core Skills Partnership (CSP) matches employers with nonprofit education programs to provide worksite adult education services onsite at companies for the incumbent workforce. Class content is customized to meet the needs of the employer and the employees.

More about curriculum

A training fund subsidizes the cost to employers.

More about funding

"Classes at the worksite have many benefits: employees improve their skills, which also helps the company. Classes are great for recruiting, morale, and employee loyalty."

Sharon Saleh, Director of Human Resources, Murdock Webbing Co., Inc. (Central Falls, RI)

The CSP Training Fund awards up to 100% of the cost of instruction services* provided by Adult Education Agencies. Employers commit to collaborating with the Partnership to provide materials for curriculum inclusion and conducting classes on-site for a minimum of 5 employees. For smaller businesses that don’t have five employees to train, we suggest combining efforts with other small businesses to gain access to this opportunity.

This project is funded through the RI Governor's Workforce Board's Real Pathways grant program and is accessible to all employers in the state who see a need for basic skills development (ESL, GED, basic computer) among their employees.

Custom Curriculum

Class content is customized to needs of the worksite. Curriculum can incorporate content such as:

  • Customer Service
  • Computer Literacy
  • Healthcare
  • Hospitality
  • GED/High School Equivalency
  • Workplace Communication
  • Workplace Safety
  • Spanish for Managers *
  • * When accompanied with English Acquisition Workplace Communication Class
